Is the name/word/title, “Christian” not coming in Christ’s name?

45,000 denominations

There are more than 45,000 denominations globally. Followers of Jesus span the globe. But the global body of more than 2 billion Christians is separated into thousands of denominations. Pentecostal, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Baptist, Apostolic, Methodist — the list goes on.   Jul 29, 2022

Would not 45,000 denominations (about 2 billion so-called “Christian” people) qualify as “many” [polos]?

Then many false prophets [spurious prophets, that is, pretended foreteller or religious impostor] will rise up and deceive [cause to roam from truth] many.

Sanctify [make (them) holy] them by Your truth. Your word is truth.

God’s Word, alone, is truth.

For false christs [spurious Messiahs] and false prophets [spurious prophets, that is, pretended foretellers or religious impostors] will rise and show great signs [indications, especially ceremonially or supernaturally] and wonders [prodigies or omens] to deceive [cause to roam (from truth], if possible, even the elect [select; by implication favorite].

Mat. 24:24

Prodigy (Def.):   a person, especially a young one, endowed with exceptional qualities or abilities.

                                    an impressive or outstanding example of a particular quality.

                                   an amazing or unusual thing, especially one out of the ordinary course of nature.

Jer. 14:14
