PERSEVERE IN THE ORIGINAL, TRUE, DELEGATES’ INSTRUCTION [WITHOUT GETTING INTO PICKY DETAILS, WHAT WE CALL THE NEW TESTAMENT]:
And they continued steadfastly [earnest towards/persevered] in the apostles’ [delegates’] doctrine [instruction] and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Acts 2:42
Definition: Delegate: a person sent or authorized to represent others.
That is the original Greek. The delegates were sent out to represent Jesus. They did an amazingly good job.
